A Russian lawmaker has declared that digital currencies such as the ruble will soon “displace conventional bank services,” saying that the use of digital technology is the nation’s future.
A recent survey has revealed that every third Russian doubts the security of the newly proposed digital ruble. Respondents were adamant that the “innovative” currency was nothing more than “some kind of fraud”.
The Bank of Russia has unveiled the official logo of its upcoming digital ruble. It also announced commission fees for users making transactions with the cryptocurrency, expected to be released by the end of 2021.
