OpenAI unveils Codex security to automate code security reviews

OpenAI has launched Codex Security, a rebranding of its previous Aardvark tool, which now includes enhanced malware analysis features. The tool is currently in a research preview phase for select users, allowing them to test its code scanning and fix suggestions. Built on the GPT-5.3-Codex model, Codex Security is designed to operate autonomously, focusing on extended cybersecurity tasks to strengthen defense mechanisms.
