Thoughout the week-long series of events,1000 attendees were exposed to a number of topics, ranging from the use of conference-based art installations, to a Mayor’s panel on regulatory needs for Web3.
Gathering a wide range of perspectives, the discussions centered around the use of Islamic Banking practices for Web3 applications, and the potential for blockchain technology to better serve society. Besides the Turkish-based companies that took part in the event, international speakers and delegates from more than 35 countries also contributed to the dialogue.
The debates enabled participants to go beyond the surface level and dive deep into the complexities of the technology. Those in attendance benefited from the diversity of ideas exchanged and gained fresh insights into the current and future roles of Islamic banking in Web3.
The Ottoman Empire was the founder of Islamic banking, paving the way to its continued and successful use in today’s Islamic finance system. And as blockchain technology evolves, the use of Islamic finance integrated with Web3 will continue to increase. Istanbul Blockchain Week demonstrated this potential, showing that technology, finance, and tradition can come together to create a more equitable and inclusive world.
