Are you thinking of a staycation this year? Well, the UK’s hottest tourist destination has been revealed, no not Cornwall or the Lake District, this Primark in Birmingham — the biggest in the world! In further disappointing news, this pizza restaurant now offers just the crust pizza. And finally, one last act of stupidity before the weekend, this first-time flier stepped onto the luggage belt thinking it leads to the plane.
BOTH BULLS AND BEARS ARE TIRED
Zooming out on the current week, we’ll soon know if yesterday’s $10.9k local bottom was a higher low compared to the one we saw on July 2nd. If it is, this would be a bullish sign and bulls can try to find a new all-time high this July. Instead, if the weekend bears show up, the chances of the early summer slump — which historically affects the crypto markets — increase. Alternatively, we can also experience tedious sideways consolidation for another couple of weeks.
Nevertheless, the ex-Ramen turned Panda of Binance believes the bullish structure has already been broken and more pain lies ahead for those who long. But at least 54% of the 1,500 members of Crypto Twitter who voted in this poll disagree in way that’s nicely aligned with the historical probabilities of an upwards or downwards breakout of a symmetrical triangle, one which bitcoin is currently experiencing. Let’s see whether bulls or bears resolve their indecision!
AN ALT SEASON IS POSSIBLE, BUT NOT IN 2019
At least one person has a confident stance regarding cryptoassets. Donald Trump joined the choir of Facebook’s Libra critics. But decided to extend the commentary and include the original cryptoasset, prompting the great Crypto Cobain to try to leverage the situation to make Craig Wright irrelevant again. This is relevant because, as Timothy Peterson reminded us, bitcoin barely moved — which means 2019’s buyers know the resilience of Bitcoin’s ecosystem.
Conversely, the Libra consortium will need to ramp up its regulatory game if they want to increase the chances of becoming the global currency they desire to be. Moreover, such bearish governmental sentiment improves our conviction we won’t see such an alt season as the one seen in 2017 to 2018 soon. Lastly, whatever happens over the weekend, don’t engage in overleveraged longs. These have been regularly liquidated over the past days and the risk is not worth it.

“IF A CRYPTOCURRENCY SYSTEM BECAME PREVALENT THROUGHOUT THE GLOBE, WOULD THAT DIMINISH OR REMOVE THE NEED FOR A RESERVE CURRENCY?”
Things like that are possible, but we really haven’t seen them, we haven’t seen widespread adoption. Bitcoin is a good example. Really almost no one uses bitcoin for payments — they use it as an alternative to gold. It’s a store of value, a speculative store of value, like gold.”
