How did Europol’s operation result in the seizure of more than $55 million in crypto-currency?
Europol, the European Union’s law enforcement agency, has announced a major bust of dark web criminals that has resulted in the seizure of more than $55 million in crypto-currency.
The operation, which was conducted in cooperation with law enforcement agencies from the United States, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Germany, targeted criminals who were using the dark web to facilitate a variety of criminal activities, including drug trafficking, money laundering, and cybercrime.
The operation resulted in the arrest of 17 individuals and the seizure of more than $55 million in crypto-currency, as well as a variety of other assets, including luxury cars, jewelry, and cash.
