The Senate Turned up the Heat on Libra – Gokhshtein
Getting called in for a Senate Hearing is much like a rectal exam, it might be good for you in the long term but feels like sh… while it’s happening.
This week Facebook and Libra went under the microscope and it didn’t go according to plan.
Senators mentioned their doubts about Libra’s privacy given Facebook’s appalling record and some went as far as to suggest banning any “Tech” company from ever creating a digital currency. But it’s too late to do that seeing as how a lot of coupons are becoming transferable into money which would make them a currency under the strictest definition of the term.
One of the highlights was when Congressman Warren Davidson said “there’s Bitcoin, and then there’s shitcoin”, sending a 100x spike in Google searches for that term.
No one really knows what will come out of this but one thing we can be sure of is that Bitcoin is slowly going mainstream and it’s bringing your favorite shitcoin along with it ?

Art on the Blockchain
BTC : USD 1D
The same chart as last week, we wicked perfectly into that buy zone we wanted. We’re still trending in this pattern for the time being though, I really wouldn’t be surprised to see 8.5 for one more touch of that bottom trendline. If not we could break out and head straight up for 14k. Regardless of where you’re at in the market, there is money to be made. Take some time to establish a plan and trade it.
ETH : BTC 1D
Pretty much same chart as last week as well. I’ve actually found what looks like a fractal to me. The last time it wedged out like this we went for 900% We got hammered and hammered until it just went, POOF. I think we should see it regain at least the median of this pattern very soon. If not I’ll sell out and buy again at about 50% of the price.
XRP : BTC 1D
This doesn’t look fantastic but it doesn’t look horrible either. The lack of volume is the polo chart but I really wanted to get stuff that was before the bull run of 17. In this chart, we saw XRP blow up then consolidate for a really long time, nearly a year. XRP had 2 huge pumps and hasn’t even really been consolidating.
If it breaks out of this pattern south I think we see XRP with some real LOWS. If it starts pushing up I would get pretty excited because a breakout of this would mean really massive gains.
Someone in South Korea appears to be trying to take advantage of Samsung’s blockchain efforts by nabbing the “Samsung Coin” trademark.
According to filings with the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO), an application to register the trademark in both English and Korean was submitted on July 10 by an individual called Kim Nam-jin.
BitMEX is reportedly being probed by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
The news appeared in brief on Bloomberg Terminal soon before press time on Friday. That was soon followed by a report from Bloomberg citing sources who said the regulator is investigating whether the exchange has allowed U.S. traders to use its platform.
Bloomberg said the CFTC investigation is “ongoing” and may not lead to misconduct allegations.
Coinbase has discontinued its Coinbase Bundle crypto investment offering, the platform’s updated FAQ site reveals.
Reasons for discontinuation of the product — which had only just launched in fall 2018 — have not been officially provided.
Coinbase says that while users will no longer see a standalone wallet for their Coinbase Bundle purchases, the amount of cryptocurrencies purchased as part of the package will not have changed and is thus “a cosmetic-only change.”
The Ethereum (ETH) team is actively looking for solutions that may help scale the blockchain network, as reported by Cointelegraph on July 15.
Co-founder of Ethereum Vitalik Buterin is now considering third-party blockchains that have lower commission rates for transferring information. According to him, the Bitcoin Cash (BCH) blockchain could cope well with this task.
