About Ihsan Pay
Ihsan Pay is building a self-custodial stablecoin payment system that feels as simple and familiar as a modern bank account.
It will be integrated into the Ihsan messenger and enable users to:
- Hold stablecoins in self-custodial wallets
- Send money directly through conversations
- Pay and receive money through QR codes
- Accept payments as a local or online merchant
- Buy and sell stablecoins through integrated partners
- Fund and use a stablecoin-connected payment card
Our goal is to hide the complexity of wallets, blockchain addresses, seed phrases and network fees while allowing users to retain control over their money.
The role
We are looking for a senior backend and blockchain engineer to become the founding technical owner of Ihsan Pay.
You will design and build the first version of our payment infrastructure, working closely with our existing messenger development team.
This is not primarily a token, NFT or DeFi role. We are building reliable consumer payment infrastructure where security, accuracy and usability are essential.
What you will build
- Embedded self-custodial wallets using Privy, Turnkey or comparable infrastructure
- Stablecoin transfers on Solana
- Username and phone-number-to-wallet resolution
- Money transfers inside messenger conversations
- Personal and merchant QR payments
- Payment requests, receipts and transaction history
- Sponsored network fees and gas abstraction
- Blockchain monitoring and transaction reconciliation
- Merchant payment APIs, webhooks and checkout infrastructure
- Sumsub KYC/KYB integration
- On/off-ramp integrations with providers such as Paybis, Transak, Mercuryo or MoonPay
- Card integration with infrastructure providers such as Rain
- Secure wallet recovery and key-export flows
Your responsibilities
- Own the architecture of Ihsan Pay from prototype to production
- Build secure and scalable backend payment services
- Integrate wallet, blockchain, KYC, on-ramp and card providers
- Ensure Ihsan Pay cannot independently access users’ self-custodial funds
- Design reliable transaction-status and reconciliation systems
- Establish security standards and review payment-related code
- Document the architecture and operational procedures
- Help recruit and mentor future payments engineers
- Work closely with our mobile, backend, product and design teams
What we are looking for
- Strong production backend experience with Go, TypeScript or a comparable language
- Experience building or integrating blockchain wallets and transactions
- Practical experience with Solana and SPL tokens
- Experience with payment APIs, webhooks, idempotency and reconciliation
- Strong understanding of private-key security, transaction signing and wallet recovery
- Experience with PostgreSQL and scalable backend systems
- Ability to make architectural decisions independently
- Clear communication and strong technical documentation
- A security-first approach to financial infrastructure
Strong advantages
- Experience with Privy, Turnkey, Web3Auth or similar embedded-wallet infrastructure
- Experience with USDC, USDT or stablecoin payment products
- Experience integrating on/off-ramps, card issuers or payment processors
- Experience with Helius or other Solana infrastructure
- Experience with QR payments or merchant checkout systems
- Experience building consumer fintech, wallets, remittance or neobanking products
- Experience taking a payment product from prototype to production
Who this role is not for
This role is unlikely to be suitable if your blockchain experience consists primarily of:
- Creating tokens
- NFT projects
- Trading bots
- Experimental smart contracts
- DeFi projects without production payment experience
We need someone who understands both blockchain technology and the reliability requirements of real financial systems.
Initial objective
Your first objective will be to deliver a secure proof of concept in which:
- Two Ihsan users automatically receive embedded self-custodial Solana wallets.
- One user can send USDC to the other using an Ihsan username or QR code.
- The transaction is confirmed biometrically.
- Network fees are sponsored and hidden from the user.
- Both users receive a clear transaction status and receipt.
- The wallet can be securely recovered and exported.
