Joe Vellanikaran, CEO
Joe leads the GCO organization. Joe was an early employee at TrustToken where he oversaw business operations for TrueUSD. Prior, he was Director of Strategy & Partnerships for Waypoint Building Group, a commercial real estate analytics startup. Before entering startups, Joe managed over $500mm of investments for AEW Capital Management and covered financial institutions for Deutsche Bank’s investment banking division.
Carl Jiang, VP of Quantitative Strategy
Carl’s primary focus is the stability, liquidity and risk management for our stablecoin products. Before, Carl spent 12 years at Cutler Group, a quantitative hedge fund. Prior to that, he began his career at JP Morgan Chase in the investment management group optimizing portfolios for endowments and foundations.
Sandy Liu, VP of Product
Sandy is in charge of GCO’s product development and setting up engineering standards. Prior she has spent 10 years working in software product management and engineering at Intel, Electronic Arts, and Tencent.
Rena Shah, Director of Business Development
Rena leads strategic partnerships for our stablecoin products. She’s a former management consultant with Kinship. Prior, she ran operations and strategy with Ember Fund, a crypto asset management app. Her career started in energy private equity with McNair Insights, the family foundation for the NFL team, Houston Texans. Before, with Chevron as an engineer.
David Steinrueck, Director of Marketing
David is GCO’s Director of Marketing. David previously led marketing and communications at TrustToken, helping to launch and grow TrueUSD, the first stablecoin to regularly show attestations of funds backing the token. Before joining TrustToken, David also led marketing and operations at an edtech startup and was founder and CEO at Wood Thumb, a design studio and woodshop in downtown San Francisco.
