Hotel Booking with Bitcoin: Booking.com cooperates with Travala
The industry giant Booking.com cooperates with the crypto-affine travel platform Travala.com. Travelers will be able to pay for Booking.com’s offer with Bitcoin & Co. in the future.
Travala, a crypto-friendly hotel booking platform, has announced a strategic partnership with industry giant Booking.com. As a press release reveals, the start-up has integrated 90,000 properties from the Booking.com offer.
This partnership allows our users to access Booking.com’s accommodation offerings as well as the offers of several other leading travel providers, which is a fantastic use case for our own AVA token and another big step towards mass introduction of cryptocurrencies.
Travala boss Matt Luczynski is bullish. In addition to the in-house token, the portal supports 20 other cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum or Dash. The company’s strategic partnership with the industry leader signals that cryptocurrencies are about to be recognized by the travel industry as a regular form of payment for online bookings.
Booking.com has recognized the value of providing its extensive real estate portfolio to the growing blockchain and cryptocurrency markets. Such a move by Booking.com is a sign that we are close to accepting cryptocurrencies as the standard form of travel booking payment in the industry,
it says in the wording of the press release .
