Approaching the world of bitcoin for the first time

I intend to start working in this area, unfortunately I do not have a clear understanding of what is behind the change in prices of Bitcoin and other virtual currencies, I would like to know according to which criteria they increase or decrease in value, if the bitcoin market is a sure market and what would be the best application to start investing, I heard about the "Binance" application, could it be a good starting point?
