AI.com, a platform aiming to advance autonomous, self-improving AI agents, launched during Super Bowl LX after Kris Marszalek, founder and CEO of Crypto.com, purchased the domain for $70 million. However, the high-profile launch was marred by significant service outages due to unexpected traffic levels, causing user confusion about the platform’s offerings. AI.com is currently in its early beta phase, allowing users to reserve personalized handles for future AI agents that will automate tasks such as calendar management. The onboarding process, which requires a Google account and credit card verification purportedly to prevent misuse, has been criticized for being aggressive given the platform’s nascent stage. Despite criticism that AI.com resembles other AI agent platforms like OpenClaw, the company asserts that its offering includes proprietary enhancements to open-source AI technology.
