A Unique Project Aiming to Liberate the Art of Filmmaking.
Imagine Netflix and Amazon combined in one, but Bitcoin-friendly and filled with a variety of independent content. It’s possible! Such a platform already exists. It’s called the IndeeHub Studio.
Here’s the first thing to greet you once you visit the platform:
“Join the cinematic (r)evolution. IndeeHub is a cinema-centric streaming platform that has re-imagined the relationship between artists and audience members.” — these words aren’t just a catchy slogan.
Why? Keep reading to find out.
The Future of Streaming.
Founded earlier this year, IndeeHub is not only aiming to reshape the future of streaming in terms of presented content and the relationship between viewers and creators, but also to use the Bitcoin Lightning Network in its business model.
From films—whether shorts, feature-length, or episodic formats—to music videos, this platform is still in beta but already offers interesting titles and, most importantly, a unique concept of ‘streaming transactions in sats (the smallest possible unit of bitcoin),’ which fairly rewards creators for the content they produce.
“The revolution is in payments, but the evolution is in the business of filmmaking. (…) We hope that audience members appreciate the value of their time and filmmakers notice being rewarded twice over: as you not only spend time and energy from your personal schedule but also a bit of money in its soundest form to watch their content. This exchange of value is unique and fundamental to the experience.”
(Zack, the founder of the IndeeHub Studio)
Signing up for IndeeHub doesn’t require immediate payment. You can still freely explore the available content, which is worth doing now and then, as this platform brings valuable options for both creators and viewers, with more unique titles being added regularly.
When it comes to your active participation: Users pay only if they decide to watch a chosen title – either through the monthly subscriptions or a single rental, i.e. access to a screening room.

The future is ₿right, and sure keeps many interesting options…
Although the IndeeHub Studio primarily focuses on films, the inclusion of a music-video section opens up an exciting area for exploration.
Consider the recent developments of FountainApp and Wavlake—though both are more focused on audio than films, they too, like IndeeHub, are powered by Lightning. Now, add the Nostr protocol into the mix, along with the growing community of independent musicians and a wide range of visual experiences like live performances, dynamic animations, and more… Doesn’t it paint a pretty exciting future?
Here’s another interesting point from the founder:
“We are very early days here at IndeeHub and are uniquely aware of how many options there are for watching ‘content,’ but our project is primarily focused on cinematic work. Over the coming year, we will be working hard to onboard talented independent filmmakers and their projects. Many of these projects, including short films, have been difficult, if not impossible, for audiences to access outside of film festivals, in-person screenings, or special events.”
Actually, the above nicely ties into the fact that one of the first groups who gained access to IndeeHub were attendees of this year’s Bitcoin FilmFest, also known as BFF—an annual film festival focused on Bitcoin culture and freedom cinema. This not only serves as a practical example of collaboration between two cinema-focused projects but also, through many future, similar collaborations, provides a unique space for creators and viewers alike.
While IndeeHub is still in early stage, not all its features are active yet, it’s already good enough to explore. The more active users it has, the more feedback it can collect, and the greater the value it will provide for the entire industry. If you want to be part of the cinematic (r)evolution, consider creating your free account: to browse existing titles, maybe to rent something, or even to subscribe to one of the available models, starting below $5 a month.
