What do Meryl Streep and Squarelink have in common?
ANSWER: Yale University!
EventPass is en route to New Haven, CT for YHacks (Oct. 25–27) where it will generate the first crypto pop-up economy outside of the blockchain-sphere. We’re also rolling out a new analytics feature that details attendee participation in ancillary workshops/talks/functions, just to put the cherry on top!
YHACKS
YHacks provides a space for 1,000+ student coders and makers to create a product in just 3 days. These projects are often inspired by event sponsors like Facebook, JetBlue, and Verizon. To give everyone a much needed break, there are plenty of workshops, talks, and even some extracurricular activities like rap battles and dance offs- all of which will be ticketed and managed by EventPass!
HOW IT WORKS
- Students will receive a card with a QR code in their welcome bag — this allows them to import their event ticket
- They select “Proof of Ownership”
- Students then scan the QR code displayed outside of each room/food line to gain access to that event
To incentivize participation, we will also offer a raffle. For every event a student attends, they will receive one ticket towards the raffle.
Alexander Patin (our fearless CTO) will also be giving a talk:
Beyond Buzzwords: how to build dApps on the Ethereum blockchain
In 2017, Long Island Iced Tea changed their name to Long Blockchain, causing their stock to soar 400% before plummeting. Stories like these make blockchain seem like nothing more than a buzzword, but it has the potential to improve healthcare, government, arts, energy, and beyond. Today, I’m going to give you a crash course in building scalable dApps on the Ethereum blockchain so you can address pain points in your own industries.
We can’t wait to take EventPass to Yale and hope it inspires some interesting student projects in the process! As always, you can get to know us on Medium, Twitter, and Telegram, and we’d love to hear your questions/feedback via contact@squarelink.com
