After what feels like an eternity of planning and development we’re finally ready to get things going! In this post, we’ll start with some basic info about Giant Games. Moving forward, we’ll be posting on a broad host of topics related to iGaming, cryptocurrencies, provably fair and more.
Giant Games is an iGaming software development and services company that is focused on building fun, innovative, and provably fair games. Initially, we’re focused on the niche we know best, which is crypto style games of chance but we’re also actively exploring games across other styles like free-to-play and social games as well. We also provide services and consulting to licensed gaming providers on topics related to iGaming development, security and provably fair algorithms. Before starting Giant, our team paid some dues in the crypto iGaming space — for a short period of time as operators, then as service providers. Time and time again, week after week, we were asked the same question, “Can you help us start a crypto gaming site?”
We looked around quite a bit. What became clear was that while there is no shortage of gaming providers out there to help you get setup to run traditional games of chance like slots, blackjack or poker, the options were quite limited if you wanted to tap into the innovations emerging in the crypto iGaming space.
At the same time, digital currency and provably fair mechanisms are paving the way for a new type of iGaming operator. In combination, the innovative crypto style games and a new wave of potential operators have set the stage for an incredible opportunity!
That perfect storm of demand is only one part of the picture though! What we believe will set Giant apart is our team’s ability to deliver performant, innovative, and secure gaming solutions.
The development and operations of iGaming solutions is not for the faint of heart! As most of you reading this are probably aware, any site that handles large movements of cryptocurrency is a hot target for blackhat hackers. While some will blame this on the irreversible nature of cryptocurrency transactions, that’s probably only one part of the picture. Sadly, a digression on this topic is out of scope for this post (maybe another time though!).
What we can say is that the Giant team has built our games on top of vast experience in network and web application security. From the chosen tech stack to extensive testing and continued monitoring, we have built our games from the ground up with security at foundational levels, not as an afterthought.
At the same time, what good is a secure game if it doesn’t work?! Before working on Giant projects, our developers made meaningful contributions to some of the largest real time applications on the web.
With the more interactive and ‘real-time’ nature of games in the iGaming space, performance can be the difference between a success and failure of your game. Performance is not optional! We’ve taken great care to ensure that all real time components perform well at scale.
While building to these standards did take more time, we’re extremely happy with the results. That said, Giant is a small team that is passionate about iGaming, cryptocurrencies, provably fair algorithms and having fun!
