Weekly Update 10/11/19 – Nano

This week we were excited to see Nano added to the popular DragonEx exchange, we welcomed Anchor-X as the newest service to operate a Principal Representative and provided further updates on the upcoming v20 Lydia release.

There are plenty more updates to share from the last seven days in Nano, let’s get to it!

Singapore-based cryptocurrency exchange DragonEx welcomed the addition of Nano to its platform this week, providing its users with access to a NANO/USDT trading pair.

As one of the more popular exchanges based in Asia, this listing presents Nano to a new audience of cryptocurrency enthusiasts.

Long-established members of the Nano ecosystem, Anchor-X (formerly Bitcoin (BTC) Superstore), has announced the launch of their Nano representative node.

Anchor-X offers its customers the ability to make crypto purchases ‘from nearly any online retailer worldwide.’

A sign of commitment towards supporting the increasing decentralization of the Nano network, running a representative is a strong indication that more progressive crypto services and businesses are beginning to identify natural incentives for supporting the network.

Reaching the required threshold of delegated weight in only 12 hours, Anchor-X became the newest Principal Representative on the Nano network.

If you wish to use Anchor-X as your delegated representative then you can find their rep here.

NanoCenter Ambassador u/arranHarty provided a useful update on recent news coming out of the community-run collective. With overviews of current projects, proposals in the funding stage, and new Ambassador appointments, the post covers all the notable ongoing activities at the Nano Center.

Earlier this week, we updated the community on the features in development for the upcoming v20 Lydia node release. We discussed the identification of some areas in which Nano PoW will need to be improved before addition to the core protocol, following some incredibly valuable community feedback.

Nano PoW & V20 Update gives an outline of the changes in the intended approach to the Lydia build and introduces some of our ideas around the eventual transition to a new PoW algorithm for rate-limiting transactions.

The first NanoJam Hackathon begins later today at 18:00 UTC and will run for 48 hours through the weekend until Sunday evening. With a prize pool totaling over 1000 Nano and many teams already registered to participate, it is set to be an engaging and productive weekend.

Nano is often described as an ideal cryptocurrency upon which to develop apps and services, owing to its fee-less and instant nature. Developers can also take advantage of some excellent (and free) public API’s to make development even easier.

If you are interested in participating then sign-up and join the Snapy.io Discord server for further instructions and to meet the other participants.
