The highly anticipated meal with the legendary billionaire and entrepreneur, Warren Buffett, finally took place near the end of January. It took place with the man who won the bid for the lunch, Justin Sun, the chief executive officer of Tron. However, it seems that the legendary investor and owner of Berkshire Hathaway didn’t say a single bad word about BTC to the Tron CEO. This might come as unexpected too many bitcoin enthusiasts as Buffett is a well-known naysayer of the leading cryptocurrency.

He once referred to it as rat poison.

While speaking to the CEO and many other guests at the charity lunch, Warren Buffett spoke his mind on several of the issues facing the nascent industry.

Buffett said that BTC still has a long way to go to fulfil the value of the underlying technology, blockchain. Because of this, Buffett jokingly said that his grandson won’t be inheriting his fortune in BTC but instead in good old reliable United States dollars.

However, Buffett did go on to say that the DLT technology does have a lot of potential. Many companies have invested in it including the banking giant JP Morgan who are looking into blockchain and the opportunities that it may offer to further its business.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. For more news on this and other crypto updates, keep it with CryptoDaily!
