Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has called on developers to embrace bolder experimentation in the application layer of the Ethereum network while upholding its core principles of censorship resistance, open-source development, privacy, and security, which he summarized as “CROPS.” In a recent post, Buterin emphasized the need for innovative approaches to designing decentralized applications, particularly in enhancing privacy and integrating artificial intelligence to transform user interactions. He highlighted that doing so would entail a significant restructuring of Ethereum’s application stack and also encouraged the ecosystem to prioritize creative experimentation, taking cues from meme-driven communities like Milady to move beyond institutional conformity.
