THE Bitcoin CANDIDATE – Financial Abyss
A platform for the first Bitcoin candidate. This is an explanation of WHY everyone, but especially my three kids need to invest/believe in Bitcoin.
“Commerce on the Internet has come to rely almost exclusively on financial institutions serving as trusted third parties to process electronic payments” — Satoshi Nakamoto 2008
We currently live in a world of fake news and no trust. The manifestation of this lack of trust can be seen via the actions/results of governments, financial systems, political systems, education systems, food systems, economic systems, judicial systems, religious systems, and social systems. At the cores of all these systems are incentives. Incentives are primarily driven by money or economic incentives.
Bitcoin began on 1/3/2009 with the genesis block. It is basically a code. It Is a TRUST/TRUTH machine at its core. The details of “how” are simple but complex. I would refer you to many experts out there to go down the “rabbit hole” on this subject. The first step is to READ Satoshi Nakamoto’s white paper “Bitcoin: A Peer to Peer Electronic Cash System. A great nextstep is Andreas M. Antonopoulos’s video “Introduction to Bitcoin”. It begs the question, “well what is Bitcoin worth?” No one knows, but a great last step is to read the Medium article by PlanB “Modeling Bitcoin’s Value with Scarcity”.
The above is the WHAT/HOW about Bitcoin. While important. The Bitcoin ecosystem is evolving. No one knows the final manifestation of the decentralized systems that will be built/supported on top of Bitcoin. It is fair to assume it can improve many if not all of the current legacy systems.
The WHY is more important. There are many facets to the TRUST/TRUTH SYSTEM that Bitcoin is starting to build. As a people, we constantly feel we have little to no power. The bifurcation of all the above systems are obvious and dependent on power/money. If you have these two things there are a different set of rules. If you don’t. There is a feeling of hopelessness. How can the individual hold people/entities/systems accountable? BITCOIN. Bitcoin provides the Trust model via the code. It allows the individual the freedom of choice. It allows an opportunity for the individual to hold a piece of the TRUST/TRUTH SYSTEM. Bitcoin as an asset can hopefully once the full system via protocols are built on top of the Bitcoin Network will provide the people a piece of the TRUST/TRUTH SYSTEM in which we can have true accountability.
At this point there is a lot of noise regarding why not to invest in Bitcoin. Maybe valid. But, we are still living with legacy systems with skewed incentives in which money drives poor behavior. Technology is racing forward in many ways. At the moment, there seems to be no checks/balances. The current incentive structures have manifested our current toxic environment. This environment is flawed. Many people are taking action to build a trusted system in which accountability can be verified. The world’s population is longing for truth and trust. Bitcoin is the TRUST/TRUTH SYSTEM that will enable the masses to rely on system in which trust/truth can be verified. Technology needs a technological system to check it. Bitcoin.
The future is being built before our eyes. Bitcoin needs to succeed. The TRUST/TRUTH SYSTEM it provides will allow all of us to be trustless because Bitcoin will do the work to verify accountability based on the new incentives that are built.
To my kids, BELIEVE IN YOURSELF + TRUST BUT VERIFY::thru Bitcoin. The simple action of buying into Bitcoin enables you to participate in the future of a new system. A TRUST/TRUTH SYSTEM. Now it is time to build. Work on new systems/protocols that provide proper incentives that can be verified via a simple code. A new system that supports the individual and ultimately ALL of US.
