Exploring the Nostr Protocol Relay: A Deep Dive into Decentralized Communication
The Nostr protocol operates via a network of relays that synchronously store, disseminate, and present user data, fostering resilience, censorship resistance, and broad accessibility. This study examines the Nostr protocol relay, exploring its design, implementation, and operation. Drawing upon technical analysis and experimentation, we present empirical findings on the relay’s performance, including latency, throughput, and resource utilization. Our results provide insights into the factors that influence relay effectiveness and contribute to a deeper understanding of the Nostr network’s capabilities and limitations.
