Norwegian Air is Taking Bitcoin (BTC) Sky-High – Monfex

Norwegian Air founder, Bjorn Kjos, and his son Lars Ola Kjos are going all-in on Bitcoin. The European airline company just announced that it would start allowing passengers to purchase tickets using cryptocurrency as soon as this year.

Norwegian Air also plans to open a cryptocurrency exchange called Norwegian Block Exchange (NBX). Stig Aleksander Kjos-Mathisen, the son-in-law of Norwegian Air founder Bjørn Kjos, is responsible for building and managing the NBX. As of now the exact number of cryptocurrencies on the exchange is unclear, but Kjos-Mathisen has stated that there would be at least Bitcoin and Ethereum available.

AirBaltic has been accepting Bitcoin since 2014. AirBaltic has had success with using Bitcoin, but due to the lack of their own exchange, problems have arisen as certain customers were unable to make purchases using their Bitcoin.
