Metaplanet reports $605M annual loss after Bitcoin dip

Metaplanet has reported a $605 million full-year loss, primarily due to a significant drop in Bitcoin’s price from its October highs. The firm, which holds a $2.4 billion Bitcoin stash at an average purchase price of $107,000 per BTC, is now looking to counter financial pressure by generating revenue through options writing, a strategy increasingly used by companies to earn income without liquidating their cryptocurrency holdings.
