Mastercard unveils verifiable intent with Google for AI purchase authorization

Bitcoin volatile, but flat, while crypto stocks bounce amid cooling AI fears

Mastercard has launched “Verifiable Intent,” a new trust layer developed in collaboration with Google that provides cryptographic proof of user authorization for AI-driven purchases. This initiative includes the open-sourcing of the Verifiable Intent specification and reference implementation on GitHub, encouraging developer contributions and adoption. The framework, which features a privacy-preserving verification method through Selective Disclosure, has secured support from industry partners such as Adyen, IBM, and Worldpay, among others.
