The MANTRA Chain has initiated a governance proposal to redenominate its native token from $OM to $MANTRA, triggering the software upgrade v7.0.0 set for Block 13,000,000 around March 3, 2026. This upgrade follows the community’s previous approval of Proposal #25, which passed with significant support. The redenomination will include a non-dilutive 1:4 token split, increasing the maximum supply from 2.5 billion to 10 billion tokens while maintaining economic value. This change aims to unify the ecosystem’s branding—aligning the token with the project’s name and harmonizing entities like MANTRA Finance and mantraUSD. Importantly, the transition of balances and staking delegations will occur automatically without requiring manual action from users.
