Let’s take a look at Ethereum✊

Ethereum applies a model known as the transactional singleton machine with shared-state, that is, a simple application on a decentralized, but singleton compute resource. We have Ethereum today to make the pathway of transactions between two consenting individuals smooth, easy and transparent.

In 1992, Dwork and Naor proposed the usage of a proof of work as a means of transmitting value signals over the Internet. In 2003, we had the first implementation of the proof of work where a token was used for peer-to-peer trading. Nakamoto in 2008 introduced another model based on previous researches. The outcome of this project was the Bitcoin which was based on a proof-of-work-secured value token and thus became the first widely adopted global decentralized transaction ledger.

In 2013, Ethereum’s kernel was introduced by Buterin and has evolved ever since. One interesting thing is that It is based on the functionality of a block- chain with a Turing-complete language. Let us view Ethereum as a transaction-based state machine: it begins with a genesis state and builds up to a final state. This final state is called the canonical version.

Also, Ethereum’s programmable computation is subject to fees whose units is specified in units of gas. Transactors can specify any gasPrice that they wish. Miners are also free to ignore transactions as they choose. A higher gas price set by a sender (in terms of Ether), the greater value to the miner. I look forward to seeing more improvements on the system and being a part of it.
