Israeli Defense Forces trains 20 new AI researchers to enhance operations

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) recently completed training for twenty graduates from a new six-week artificial intelligence (AI) researchers course at its School for Computer Professions. These individuals will be assigned to different units across the IDF, where they will develop AI solutions tailored to enhance military intelligence and operations. This initiative is part of a broader effort led by the IDF’s C4I and Cyber Defense Directorate, which established a dedicated AI division, Bina, to integrate AI into military applications amidst evolving global technological demands. The course educated participants on AI fundamentals, signal processing, and research skills, enabling them to create systems for tasks such as audio classification and terrain mapping.
