I’ll Have Some Censorship To Go With That Conflict Of Interest, Please!
In the Dash Talk Discord, an event happened that was the culmination of many things that had happened over the years. It was shocking, the result of all pretenses of fair moderation being dropped, and the true nature of the participants revealed.
If you haven’t yet read my detailed account, you can find it here on Medium. It explains the behavior of the team of this Discord, and the reasons behind it:
This article, which is fact-based, non-aggressive and contains a ton of relevant information about the Dash Talk Discord, was removed as off-topic on the Dashpay sub-Reddit by Macrochip (Basilpop) who just happens to be a moderator of both forums.
After he removed it, we continued the conversation in this now-dormant post’s comment section. He asserted that the post was off-topic because it was something that happened to me, personally. I have recorded this conversation in the event it’s needed. I told him I would not stand for it, and as you can see by this post, I will not.
I know, however that Macrochip (Basilpop), has a clear conflict of interest, and is a symptom of the bigger problem I’ve outlined in the above article. Let’s examine why:
- Macrochip (Basilpop) is a moderator of both forums, and this article rightfully portrays the Dash Talk Discord in a bad light.
- He has been removed by me as a mod on Dash Nation on Discord in the past for not performing his job adequately.
- He is complicit in the environment and treatment of individuals on Dash Talk Discord (like described in the above article) as a long-time moderator.
I’m not sure about you, but the argument that the above article is off-topic for Reddit, given the three points above, is very flimsy indeed. He used his power as a moderator of the Dashpay sub-Reddit to censor critical information about Dash Talk Discord, which he also moderates.
The above post is most assuredly relevant because it details the behavior of a Dash community forum that is linked and promoted by the sub-Reddit on its sidebar. The Dash community deserves to know what is happening there and ask if it really represents what they want Dash to be about. Is this a place run by professionals, or simply a boys club, where dissenting opinions are ridiculed and accusatory false narratives are allowed to bloom and grow to the detriment of contributing community members? This is very relevant, and it’s being censored by a mod who I’ve fired, and is a moderator of both forums.
Please help me to right this wrong, and demand my post be reinstated. I would hope that as Dashers we do not stand for censorship in the attempt to silence any side of a debate.
Thanks for reading.
