Google has launched Gemini 3.1 Flash-Lite, an AI model designed for high-speed and cost-effective performance, targeting enterprises and developers. Priced at one-eighth the cost of the Gemini 3.1 Pro, it offers a significant reduction in expenses alongside improvements in latency and overall output speed. This model is part of Google’s strategic tiered Gemini 3 lineup, which pairs the deep cognitive capabilities of its Pro variant with Flash-Lite’s ability to handle high-volume, repetitive tasks efficiently. Notably, Flash-Lite introduces “thinking levels” that allow developers to adjust the model’s reasoning intensity based on task complexity, enhancing its utility in various applications.
