#thestrat is a trading strategy developed by Rob Smit.
After watching some videos on #thestrat I started to get deep into it and to find methods of detection other than the eye. There are many open source scripts on tradingview that plot the type of bar number on the chart so you can use #thestrat more easy.

Basics:
1-bar is an inside bar _ no new high and no new lows, this signals consolidation
2-bar forms a new high or a new low to the previous bar and is a trend bar
3-bar is an ouside bar _ new high and new low compared to previous bar, this signals a broadening range formation
Time Frame Continuity for bullish trend:
monthly close higher than open
weekly close higher than open
daily close higher than open
hourly close higher than open
if all these allign you have a bullish trend , in the other direction you have a bearish trend .

The setup I cover in this tutorial is the 322 pinbar pattern which occurs in this order.
1. A 3-bar is formed and closes to the upside
2. A 2-bar follows with a very big wick, this is a pinbar signalling a possible reversal
3. A 2-bar to the downside is created by breaking the low of the pinbar signalling that the reversal is happening.

On the chart I have shown a possible stop loss and take profit target for this signal.

For pinbar detection I use the script by the majestic pinewizard Scarf

A way to go forward in finding these patterns is to use scarfs pinbar alerts on different coins and when you get an alert you check if the #thestrat conditions are also there. This is a high probability trade setup that does not happen alot but when it happens make sure to catch it.
