Giant Line Messenger to Launch Link Token Trading for Japan in April
LVC Corporation, messaging giant’s crypto subsidiary Line, will launch its proprietary cryptocurrency trading Link in Japan in April. Let’s check to Giant Line Messenger to Launch Link Token Trading for Japan in April.
LVC is also developing a system planned for Link’s debut in Japan on its local crypto-currency exchange BitMax, according to a Jan. 30 press release.
Line already started trading Link on its international cryptocurrency exchange BitBox in mid-October 2018. LVC had to wait to obtain a license from local financial regulators in September 2019 before launching its BitMax cryptocurrency exchange in the country, due to stricter national cryptocurrency regulations in Japan.
Link helps its owners to access a wide range of services and decentralized apps, or DApps, according to its official website.
Cryptocurrencies and Internet Messengers
Line is not the only social application now trying to establish its own crypto economy. Certain sources include Kik messaging apps, Facebook giant Telegram, Whatsapp and social media apps.
Both Kik and Telegram are currently struggling with the US Securities and Exchange Commission in legal battles over the suspected selling of unregistered securities to U.S. citizens. Kik recently asked the SEC to formally define a trial date for its lawsuit. Recently, the SEC has improved its argument against Telegram, arguing that its Gram tokens are worth less than donuts due to their lack of intrinsic value.
Facebook’s Libra stablecoin has also faced pushback from regulators. Nevertheless, even if it was never to see the light of day, Facebook’s very premise of attempting to launch a global alternative to traditional currencies has begun a larger global discussion of digital currencies.
Major global economists are crediting Facebook’s Libra with forcing the world to begin to rethink the US dollar as the anchor currency.
