The Fluid DAO is considering a proposal from @0xfluid’s @DeFi_Made_Here to establish the Fluid Foundation, funded by $250,000 monthly grants from the DAO treasury. The proposal, submitted by DMH, COO of Instadapp, involves transferring all of Fluid’s intellectual property into a Cayman Islands foundation, which would operate through custodians and directors without owners. This legal structure is designed to allow Fluid to handle regulatory requirements such as AML and KYC, reflecting a broader trend in the DeFi community where protocols adopt foundation models to manage off-chain interactions under DAO governance. If approved, the foundation would manage and steward Fluid’s assets, which are reported to hold over $1 billion in total value locked, while FLUID token holders retain governance authority.
