Eggforce Weekly Writeup #7 (part 2): Game Plan – Eska Roy

CONQUEST
All Eggoas like a good fight. Capturing territories will be essential to victory: owning land is the only way to get extra Shrooms.
The game world has 64 parcels of land. Each territory is empty at first, but shrooms start growing as soon as the round starts.
You can send any of your Eggoas to capture land. Each tier acts as an individual group.
If the land you’re capturing is unoccupied, you now own it. Land allows you to harvest Shrooms at your discretion.
Now, here’s the key part: Shrooms on land grow exponentially. The longer you wait between harvests, the bigger the harvest.
(This works fairly close to the SnailTree model with Pecans, for you die-hard snail fans.)
If the land you try to capture is already held by someone else, then a fight starts.
Fights are solved by a dice roll, using the following parameters:
- we take the stats of your respective Eggoas
- we weight them, according to the territory’s own modifier (each territory has a modifier similar to the production modifiers we talked about earlier)
- the results represent your respective odds.
So, if your group of Eggoa has a power of 1500 and the enemy has a power of 500, your chance to win the territory is 1500/(1500+500) = 75%.
Whoever loses the fight loses 20% of his Eggoas.
We also raise land level by 1. Land level is a straight multiplier to Shroom production for this land. The more contested a territory, the more productive it becomes.
If the defender wins, nothing else happens.
If the attacker wins, he becomes the new lord of the land. Shrooms are immediately harvested… and split equally between the new lord and the previous defender.
