Dream Channel is launching a platform that allows films made with 3D effects to sell the digital location where films were shot as film collectibles. The model is being proven with its launch film LUCYDIA — a film 100% shot inside a futuristic Amsterdam — where the films Producers are offering fans and investors the chance to own an income generating ‘space’ in the films virtual world.

What is Dream Channel?

The Dream Channel is a platform that boasts features that integrate the Ethereum blockchain with Unity to allow users to build, own, and monetise their own virtual worlds without needing any knowledge or experience with coding or 3D programming. How Does it Work?

Dream Channel allows anyone to generate a ‘space’ inside a social network that at first resembles a next generation MySpace. They can then add any form of media — including virtual worlds — add payments, connect with like minded people and projects and form a community around their project.

In the case of LUCYDIA, the set was built using the 3D programme Unity. The complete virtual world is imported into a Dream Channel ‘space’ by generating a unique digital token for the asset – a process called ‘minting’ . Next a digital token is minted for each space within the world. LUCYDIA has 227 buildings, all of which have their own location tokens allowing them to be sold and traded separately between parties. The scenes of the film are scattered across the virtual world in these locations – making some more valuable than others.

Collectibles that Earn Income ?

Each LUCYDIA property can also earn an income for its owner from fan visits. Dream Channel allows media owners to add payments for interactions with premium content through ‘Dream Credits’. Users can buy Dream Credits or earn them from watching paid for content — ie a brand may sponsor a DJ gig — from directing traffic through an in built referral system & from tipping. The credits system is especially effective in VR mode where content is triggered by eye gaze and users only pay for actual engagement.

If you are slow to get this, LUCYDIA is a film shot entirely in a digital set, and this same set is a VR world that you can visit both in 2D mode and / or immersed. The virtual city is a persistent world and is functional allowing owners to earn revenues from interactions with content.
