Creative Uses For The Internet Of Things

Unless you’ve just jumped on the crypto wagon following Bitcoins unexpected surge over these past few weeks (don’t worry, we don’t judge), you will have heard of the Internet of Things (IoT).

But even though you may have heard of it, the name doesn’t really give anything away. In fact, if anything it gives you questions rather than answers

According to Google, IoT is:

“The interconnection via the Internet of computing devices embedded in everyday objects, enabling them to send and receive data.”

So… everything clear now?

Didn’t think so.

Not to worry, CryptoDaily is here to clear everything up for you.

Essentially, the IoT is a representation of a load of devices which have a connection to the internet. These devices can be sensors, microcontrollers, single-board computers, actuators and so on, but they are basically mini computers.

The Creativity of IoT

There are a lot of interesting projects that are around thanks to IoT. Some of the projects include car connections, smart cities and even smart homes.

Smart cities

Smart cities impact things like traffic lights and street lighting. Imagine a city that has traffic lights which regulate themselves based on what roads are more congested.

Traffic is one of the most annoying things in the world and I know you agree with me. Whether you’re late for work, a meal or a doctors appointment, traffic can impact us all. If traffic lights could sense which roads need to be on what light, this would speed up everyone’s day.

Car Connections

Your cars status can be linked to your phone. So if you forget whether you locked the car or not, you needn’t worry as you just check its status on your mobile phone. Little things on where your car’s location is, how much fuel is in the tank and so on are available through IoT.

You’ll never run out of fuel again!

Smart Home

Smart homes give people the ability to have smart doors, which sense when you’re around so will unlock automatically when you’re around. This is very handy when you can’t find your keys or have both hands full after a day of shopping.

All these things are just the start of what the future has to offer for people.
