The ongoing war with Iran has led shipping companies to impose surcharges of 10–25% on cargo destined for Israel due to increased insurance and operational costs amid the conflict. Major carriers, including ZIM and MSC, have informed customers of these price hikes, which might eventually affect consumer prices. The situation has been exacerbated by delays in deliveries, prompting Challenge Airlines to prioritize essential goods like medical supplies and fresh food. Challenge Airlines, operating under special authorization, recently delivered 250 tons of fish to replenish supplies that had not arrived since Saturday. The conflict has disrupted maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, causing a spike in global oil and gas prices and driving up costs for shipping.
