BULVRD : IDEO Hackathon Submission – BULVRD App
Using AR, ML, and Ethereum micro transactions to reduce traffic congestion and create safer roads
BULVRD Drive offers an Augmented Reality and Machine Learning mapping and navigation epxerience we’ve named BULVRD IQ. IQ leverages the latest in AR and ML to provide an intelligent driving experience. providing a visual
guide during navigation, hands free reporting of road reporting like construction and hazards, and real time collision safety alerts.
For the IDEO Hackathon, we wondered how we could continue to tap into our technology using token economics to help directly reduce traffic congestion. A recent article outlining how ‘camping’ the left lane in the US is one of the leading causes of traffic congestion and accidents. We realized we could use our lane tracking technology, along with visual intelligence to detect when a driver is camping the left lane. We can couple this with tokenized incentive micro transactions to give a driver an instant economic reward for moving over! We’ve captured an example of this tech in action
With our upcoming Android release, we are now rewarding drivers as this is detected. Though to start we have configured this to be rather conservative and require multiple conditions before started.
This includes:
– Detected in the left lane
– Recent visually detected speed limit
– Traveling below a set threshold of the speed limit for a set period of time
– No vehicle detected ahead
– No detect congestion
– No vehicle pacing in the right lane
– No active safety alerts
– NO BULVRD reports nearby
We hope to continue off the backside of this integration to expand to other various laws of the road to help use AR technology mixed with Blockchain micro transactions to deliver real impact to our daily commutes!
Be sure to download BULVRD Drive today and start earning BLVD tokens every time you drive!
Be sure to also take a look at some of the behind the scenes of our AR + ML technology.
