Building the Future of DApps through Mobile – Origin Protocol

A big part of what we do at Origin is removing the friction users experience when using cryptocurrency and Ethereum. Unfamiliar concepts such as key management and gas can be daunting if you are just getting started in the crypto space. Although we do our best to avoid exposing our users to these new concepts, we also believe that it’s incredibly valuable for people to become educated to the importance of public-key encryption and its role in securing our privacy, our digital assets, and our personal freedoms.

We recently announced our integration with Samsung’s Blockchain Wallet. Samsung released their Blockchain Wallet with built-in wallet management and DApp discovery. The wallet utilizes the Samsung Blockchain Keystore to create and securely store private key information. When you consider the integration possibilities with the broader Samsung ecosystem (Samsung Pay anyone?), it is hard not to get excited about the future of the space. This was an exciting collaboration for our entire Origin team as we share the tech giant’s desire to put real-world use cases for cryptocurrency and decentralized applications in the hands of people everywhere, through mobile.

At Origin, we’ve always believed that the future of DApps and cryptocurrencies lies in mobile. We are constantly re-architecting our mobile apps to better serve our global users. Our goal has always been to build simple and easy to use tools for the masses, including those who are still learning about blockchain technology, cryptocurrency, and decentralized apps. Since we began our ambitious journey to enable many different marketplaces across the global sharing economy, we’ve built our technology platform to support many use cases, from home-sharing to e-commerce.
