Airwallex raises $330M at $8B valuation for global payments network

Airwallex has successfully raised $330 million, achieving a valuation of $8 billion. The company has developed a private global payments network that facilitates 95% of transactions on local rails rather than relying on SWIFT, with over 90% settling the same day. This funding will support Airwallex’s growth initiatives, including the introduction of AI agents aimed at enhancing the efficiency of finance teams. Additionally, Airwallex recently expanded its product offerings in the U.S. with the launch of its Yield product, allowing businesses to access a JP Morgan-managed AAA-rated money market fund without lock-up periods.
