Trading battles are simple. Traders aim to make the largest profit in a certain time period by trading the BTC-PERP contract using an initial stack of Bitcoin (which acts like an entry fee into the competition).

At the end of each battle, the trader with the highest Profit and Loss (PnL) wins a BTC prize, on top of the profit that they realise through their trades.

Battles are based on Interdax’s sub-account feature, which can be used to isolate risk and manage positions. When entering a battle, you’ll be asked to fund a sub-account, which ensures that each participant starts with the same BTC balance.

Positions remain untouched after the battle has finished (so must close any trades yourself). Prizes are sent to the winners within 48 hours of the end of each competition. The Interdax team checks the results to ensure no cheating has taken place.

Interdax so far has hosted three categories of trading battles:

  1. Daily battles: (for example, Wednesday War) last 24 hours and are hosted each day at 20:00 UTC. The daily battles have the lowest entry requirements and prizes. The best performing trader wins a prize of 0.05 BTC.
  2. Weekly Warriors: last seven days and begin on Fridays at 21:00 UTC. Weekly battles have a higher entry requirement (0.10 BTC) but a higher prize (0.25 BTC). The top three traders split the prize where the best performing trader wins 0.1429 BTC, second place gets 0.0714 BTC, while third place receives 0.0357 BTC.
  3. Finally, there are battles hosted by influencers and bigger battles held by Interdax (for example, DaxDecade). Crypto influencers can set the prize, initial stack, and duration for their trading battles. We’ve hosted battles in partnership with Majin and Romano so far and we look forward to hosting more of these competitions in the future.

Starting times and prizes for regular battles may be changed by Interdax depending on feedback and other factors.

Let’s look at some statistics related to Interdax’s 100 battle milestone.

Over the course of 100 trading battles on our mainnet, 36 different traders have won the highest prize. In total, we’ve awarded close to 14 BTC (~$135,000) to the winners.

The five best performers (by the number of battles they have achieved first, second, or third place) are listed below:

  1. mindseal: 14 wins,
  2. Avada: 12 wins,
  3. WhiteRabbit: 11 wins,
  4. JediKnight: 7 wins, and
  5. powerful-jade-marsupial: 7 wins.
